G2E Attendees to be polled by
Consumer Opinion Services on Industry Issues

 

            A first for the Global Gaming Expo, held in Las Vegas November 14-16, will be the presence of Consumer Opinion Services Inc. , whose survey crew will be interviewing expo attendees on the Exhibit Hall floor.

 The Global Gaming Expo (G2E) is the world largest gaming industry tradeshow.

The data from the study will be available for review at the Consumer Opinion Services (COS) booth in the Exhibit Hall.   Survey questions will measure attendee attitudes toward current issues that impact the gaming industry, including gaming in China, the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast gaming infrastructure, and the domestic legalization of online gaming.

            Interviewing staff from COS will approach G2E attendees and administer a brief five minute survey, recording responses on an innovative handheld PDA device.   The PDA will be linked through a Wi-Fi connection to a host server that will compile results in real time.   Reports will be available for viewing during exhibit hall hours at the COS booth on a video display.

            “The real power of our PDA system is the ability to display the data set numbers in what amounts to a real time display,” said AJ Calderon, IT manager for the project.  “And the software is incredibly easy to use and program.  We can even re-program and update survey questions on the fly, while the units are in use.  All done remotely through a wireless connection.”

           

The advantages of conducting customer research in this manner go far beyond the PDA’s appeal as another technology gadget, according to Greg Carter, Vice President at COS.  “The PDA based interviewing system means faster and more reliable market research.  The time to deploy, compile and report survey results is dramatically reduced, which means a savings in both time and money,” Carter said.

            Demonstrations of the PDA system and software will be available at the COS booth in the Exhibit Hall, (Booth #3987).

            The survey will also ask questions concerning the attendee’s opinions and observations about G2E, which will be used by Reed Exhibitions to improve the experience at future Expos.
